How far in advance should I order?
As soon as possible if you want to secure the date for your event; I will not generally book multiple events. Popular weekends are booked months in advance generally. Some options may not be available if ordered too late. Even rush orders will a require at least a few days for processing. Feel free to contact me to inquire about available dates.
How do I secure the date?
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the date. The balance is due two weeks before the date.
Do you have a storefront?
No. I make all of my cakes in my home.
Can I still meet you in person?
Of course! I would love to meet with you to discuss your cake idea.
Do you do non-fondant cakes?
Not usually. Fondant is my preferred medium. The last time you had it, it may not have been very tasty. However, my fondant is not store bought and quite delicious. Vanilla is my default fondant flavor, but I also do lemon and almond flavors.
Do you do tastings?
Unfortunately, Florida's laws prohibit home bakeries from offering samples. I am still happy to meet with you and discuss your design ideas, however.
Do you make cream cheese frosting?
No. Florida does not allow home bakeries to makes frostings or fillings which use cream, including cream cheese.
Do you deliver?
Yes, in fact I recommend delivery for multi-tiered cakes. For areas within 30 minutes of my location (33322) the charge for delivery is $25. Locations further away will incur additional cost.
You may pick up your cake for no additional charge. Three and four tier cakes are heavy. I would recommend you bring someone other than the driver to keep the cake tipping during the drive.
If you pick up your cake, please be on time. Pick-ups later than 30 minute after the scheduled time will be charged a late pick-up fee.
Can I borrow a cake stand or server set?
I have various cake/cupcake stands and server sets available to borrow with a purchase. This is a free service, but I do require a "security check" to ensure that the borrowed item is returned. If the item it not returned within 7 days (not business days, just days), then I will order/buy a new one with your security check.
What about cake toppers?
I make fondant ribbons and bows to top many of my cakes. I will also use anything that you give me (monogram, figurines, flowers, picture frame etc). If you would like flowers on your cake, you should order flower toppers from your florist. I can arrange/secure these to the cake. If you would like fondant flowers on your cake, prices depend on the type of flower. Please contact me.
What decorations are additional costs and why?
Certain things either take more time or more money. For example, fondant flowers take me time and extra planning. Metallic colors are simply more expensive for me and so they add to the cost of the cake. Non-round cakes, or multi-shape layers generally give you more cake for the size and also make the structure a little trickier. I like doing intricate and creative things however, so I try mostly to simply cover my additional expenses. The added cost really depends on the size of the cake and the surface area that will need to be decorated. Feel free to contact me for specific quotes.

How big are your servings sizes?
The serving size depends on how large you make your slices. Most cakers state serving size according to "event style" cuts, which are smaller than what you might cut for yourself normally. My cake layers are substantial so event slices are still good portions, but you might want thicker slices. The following list is my estimate, and will hopefully help:

3" or 4" tiers, What's the difference?
A 3" tall cake will have two layers of cake and one layer of filling, while a 4" tall cake will have three layers of cake on two layers of filling. The 4" cake can serve more people as well, if you split the tiers. The servings listed above assume 4" tiers. If you order three inch tiers you may still serve as many people, but your slices will need to be smaller.
